Eligibility Criteria for Admission to UCEED Colleges
The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay releases the eligibility criteria for IIT admissions through UCEED. Aspirants seeking to IIT BDes admission are required to meet the eligibility criteria as laid down by the authorities. However, for private UCEED colleges in India, aspirants are advised to refer to institute’s website for detailed eligibility. It may vary from one college to another.
Criterion 1 – Age Limit
For admission in 2026, aspirants from the OPEN/EWS/OBC-NCL category must have been born on or after October 1, 2001, while those from the SC, ST, or PwD categories must have been born on or after October 1, 1996.
Criterion 2 – UCEED qualification:
The candidate should have obtained a rank in the UCEED entrance exam.
Criterion 3 – Qualifying examination:
Aspirants should have passed all five subjects in the qualifying examination (Class XII or equivalent) in 2025 or 2026 for admission through UCEED 2026.
Candidates from the Science Stream (at 10+2 level) with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as subjects are eligible to apply to all six participating institutes (IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Roorkee and IIITDM Jabalpur). Candidates from any other stream (Science without Mathematics or Physics or Chemistry, Commerce, and Arts & Humanities) are eligible to apply to IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, and IIT Hyderabad.

Soon after the declaration of UCEED results, the authorities will begin the counselling and seat allotment process. Qualified candidates will have to participate in the counselling process to get a seat in IITs accepting UCEED scores. The counselling process begins with registration, followed by choice filling, locking, announcement of seat allocation, and payment of admission fee.
