The council facilitates the planning, implementation, and monitoring of research activities in the university. It also provides a policy framework for research promotions. It has innovation and entrepreneurship policies for student startups.

The university works on Sustainable Development Goals with specific focus on Bengaluru’s rural district. It focuses on rural engagement and development through social work, consultancy, and training. Through the work of the centre, important partnerships have been made with stakeholders in India and abroad.

Apart from the research opportunities, the university is committed to overall development of the students. For the holistic transformation of the students, the university conducts co-curricular activities like sports, cultural, hobby clubs, etc.  Some Programmes include mandatory National Study Tour, Internships and other training programmes.

The Industry Interface Centre of the university is responsible to provide assistance to the students and faculty with Internships and Job Placements. To avail this internships/placements facility, the students must have a minimum of 75% of attendance. The Placement Rules and Guidelines are usually issued to the students in their pre-final year.

The initiative to provide counselling service to the students was started by the Presidency University. A qualified and experienced counsellors are assigned to render assistance to the  students studying at the university. The objective for these services is to provide neutral guidance/assistance to the students to help them face their problems.
