Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University was established in 1989 and is a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU), Asian Association of Open Universities (AAOU), International Council for Distance Education (ICDE) and many more such associations. It is a UGC recognised university that is currently ranked 149th among Indian universities by NIRF. The university has been graded ‘A’ by NAAC. The goal of the university is to ‘Reach the Unreached’ segments of the society to provide need-based academic programs ranging from certificate to Post-Graduate programs.
The University aims at providing affordable higher education through seamless access to learner-centric quality education. The distance education segment of the university aims at fostering critical and analytical thinking among the students through an industry-integrated curriculum. The university focuses on 360 degree development of the students and thus, emphasizes on various co-curricular activities, in an online mode. Industry experts lectures and workshops are conducted on a regular basis to make learning interactive.
