Pondicherry University is a collegiate public central university, established in 1985. The university has three campuses. All of them are NICTE & AICTE recognised. Pondicherry University imparts education in around 65 programs, offering a wide range of specialisations. It has fostered an innovative environment that encourages students for critical thinking and helps them develop analytical abilities.
Directorate of Distance Education, Pondicherry University aims to offer distance courses at an affordable cost. They have prepared the course curriculum with assistance from various industry experts to make students job-ready. They organise various webinars and expert sessions to promote a seamless and student-friendly experience in distance learning as well.
The university provides financial assistance to meritorious students coming from lower economic backgrounds.
Under this facility students are provided with the fabrication of components, repairing and servicing of scientific equipment. The CIF comprises three shops: mechanical shop, glass blowing shop and electrical shop
The university offers a plethora of resources. It organises webinars and sessions for students as well as teachers for upskilling. Along with that it has relevant video content to assist students who prefer different format.
The university conducts a week or two week Personal Contact Program in various disciplines to address students’ doubts and help them with exam preparation. It helps the students to get the essence of regular mode and interact with the teaching faculty face-to-face.
Pondicherry University offers students who are enrolled in distance courses to avail scholarships. These scholarships are meant for students who belong to Special Reservation Category.
