Overview

Tamil Nadu Open University was established in the year 2002 with the aim to provide Education for Anyone at Anytime. It was the first university in the state of Tamil Nadu to provide credit-based self-learning material to distance learning students. The university has crafted a niche for itself, dedicated towards providing innovative and socially relevant education. It is equipped with relevant technology to impart I education, carry out sustainable social transformation and contribute towards national development.

The university offers a number of quality higher education programs which are strategically designed to meet the emerging needs of the industry today. It has fostered a diverse curriculum to widen the students’ horizons. It has fostered numerous valuable public-private partnerships and is continuously working towards bridging the digital divide. Alumni Cell

The Alumni Cell brings all the passed out students of Tamil Nadu Open University together for exchange of expertise, knowledge and competencies. It acts as an instrument to provide various facilities like fellowship and placements. It also acts as a great source of opportunities for the existing students.

Placement Cell

The Students’ Placement Cell ensures internships and placement opportunities to the students of the University. It offers employment training and organises job fairs for the students through online mode.

Digital Library

The digital library of Tamil Nadu Open University serves the information needs of distance education students and ensures easy and all-time access to all the learning material that they require.

Electronic Media Production and Research Centre

The Electronic Media Production and Research Centre develops various audio visual programmes and prepares multimedia content that helps further the cause of education. It helps in reaching the unreached by conducting video lectures on important topics.
