SRM Institute of Science and Technology, previously known as SRM University, is one of the top-ranked institutes in the Nation, educating over 20,000 students with 1,500 faculties. The SRM Institute of Science and Technology Chennai has academic buildings, a computer centre, lecture halls, a library, a conference room, a dormitory, and many more facilities.
The university’s few well-known highlights include international faculty, a dynamic & flexible curriculum, intriguing research, and linkages to other universities worldwide to offer students a top-notch education with complete academic freedom.
The institute has developed its curriculum-rich environment by implementing numerous cutting-edge programmes, including nanotechnology, bioinformatics, genetic engineering, remote sensing & GIS, which are offered in collaboration with foreign universities. SRMIST has sponsored over 150 students to 35 foreign universities like MIT, Carnegie Mellon, and UC Davis to give them a chance to learn from international faculties. SRMIST conducts placement drives for its students in which multiple companies, such as TCS, Wipro, and Cognizant provide 100% placement assistance.
Organising frequent interactive sessions with industry mentors to help students gain practical exposure to the industry. Interaction proves beneficial for students alongside regular courses as they get to know the corporate atmosphere and become job ready.
Since Soft Skills are considered the most critical skill in the global market, SRM organises Soft Skill Training programmes and Aptitude classes to prepare students to face the professional world.
To provide students with a real-time industry experience, students of SRMIST are taken to industry frequently. They gain various insights into the production and other activities in the industry.
SRMIST organises Conferences annually, which are National & International. Conferences help students know more about the latest industry trends and published papers and also gain knowledge of the market.
The SRM Institute of Science and Technology’s Robotics Club has been holding events like workshops, technical competitions, and outreach initiatives about robotics. The club promotes students from all areas of engineering and strives to educate young people in the most cutting-edge field of robotics.
The Semester Abroad Program of SRMIST has helped sponsor over 150 students to 35 foreign universities like MIT, Stanford, UC Berkeley, and Cambridge. This programme has helped students explore foreign institutes, their teaching methodology, and their cultural aspects.
