Overview

Sri Ramachandra Medical College and Research Institute was established in the year 1985 with a dedication to serving society as a centre of excellence with an emphasis on medical education, research and health care. In 2018, MoE changed the institute name to Sri Ramchandra Institute of Higher Education and Research (Deemed-to-be-University).

UGC granted the university Category 1 status in 2018 and awarded an “A” grade with a CGPA of 3.62. It has a marvellous campus with air-conditioned classrooms, modern laboratories and an enormous central library.

Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education & Research (Deemed University), has numerous facilities such as an innovation council, students council, student enhancement programme, and skills lab to nurture students for their overall growth. The university also has a placement cell to manage the placement activities of all students. It even trains students by conducting aptitude tests, group discussions and mock HR interviews. WHO has teamed up with the university as a collaborating Centre for Research and Training purposes.

Student Enhancement Programme

Sri Ramchandra Institute of Higher Education and Research encourages students to enhance their social, mental, intellectual and academic skills through various Student Enhancement Programmes. It includes Analytical Skill Development, Human Value Development, Soft Skill Development, Employability Skill Development, Language and Communication Skill Development, Personality and Professional Development, and Yoga and Wellness.

Counselling Service

The university offers free Student Counselling Service for students to help them manage their mental health and well-being. Counsellors understand the issues that concern or trouble the students and provide them with strategies to overcome them. The students can book their sessions on the student portal.

Events

The university organises numerous events where students from different branches participate and celebrate. Road to Tokyo Quiz 2020, Report for Earth Day Celebration, and World Sleep Day Celebration are a few events students participated in and enjoyed with full enthusiasm.

International University Partner

Sri Ramchandra Institute of Higher Education and Research has partnered with numerous international universities, such as the Queen Margaret University of Edinburgh, Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, and the University of Leeds, to provide students with an opportunity to learn from the international faculty members.

Research Center

Research Centres such as CSMSCR, CPTMR, CISM, CGC, and CDFMET are inaugurated by the university to allow students to participate in multiple research projects and contribute to the benefits of society. Currently, the university has state-of-the-art infrastructure that it has the capability to offer 3,600 research opportunities with researchers and faculty members.

Faculty Development Programme

Faculties are trained in the workshops to enhance their skills and deliver better education to the students. Thus they are equipped with modern facilities and cutting-edge technologies to teach students in the best possible way.

Placement Cell

The university believes in providing equal employment opportunities for all students. The Placement Cell is responsible for managing and monitoring placement activities for all the courses. It also organises campus recruitment for students with industries and arranges training for them.

Innovation Council

The innovation council of the university was established following the norms of MHRD’s Innovation Cell to foster the culture of innovation amongst higher education institutions systematically. The Innovation Council focuses on creating a vibrant local innovation ecosystem and start-up supporting mechanism in Higher Education in India.
