Established in 2004, Tamil Nadu Physical Education and Sports University is a unique and first-of-its-kind university in India. It is a UGC approved university that has been accredited with a ‘B’ grade by NAAC. The University aims to promote and develop Physical Education and Sports through innovative programmes in teaching, coaching, research, and outreach activities. The University has strong collaborations with big institutes like Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development, etc.
The School of Distance Education (SDE) of Tamil Nadu Physical Education and Sports University was established in the year 2007 with a vision to impart higher education to students who cannot pursue conventional education. It offers an innovative, integrated and interdisciplinary curriculum in Physical Education and various sports and games. All the programs offered by the university are unique and provide a competitive edge to every learner. All the learning resources of the university are prepared meticulously in self-learning format by subject experts. The university promotes 360 degree growth and development of the students. For the same, it organises various activities like workshops and training programs.
The main objective of the cell is to ensure the proper working of all the departments of the University. It ensures smooth and hassle-free teaching and learning process in accordance with the set policies and procedures.
The University offers all kinds of study material in the form of e-books to the students. The learning material is made available at one place which makes it easily accessible to the students.
To provide an opportunity to students for addressing their doubts, the School of Distance Education has set up a Personal Contact Programme. Here, students get the opportunity to interact with the teachers as well as with each other.
