Established on 9th May 2016 under the Gujarat Private Universities Act, the Sankalchand Patel University is a UGC-recognised university. The university was positioned in the Gold band for Academic Excellence in the India Academia Ranking 2023 and in the Silver band for Employability and Startup Ecosystem Excellence 2023. The university is dedicated to offer high-quality education and focuses on creativity, professionalism, and integrity to improve its academic processes. It has the vision to become a world-class university through philanthropic practices and to nurture students with startup and innovation programs. This gives them the opportunity to showcase their talent and build something of their own.
The university not just focuses on imparting the students quality education but also gives equal importance to co-curricular and extracurricular activities. To create a platform for the students’ ideas and innovations to come to real life, there is a well-established ‘Startup Incubation Centre’ where they can also get employment opportunities. The placement cell of the university helps link the students with various organisations and in advancing their careers by providing them with relevant training. Moreover, the university has signed MoUs with various national and international universities. Infosys, Siemens, Axis Bank, and Apollo fall under the prominent recruiters of the university.
Sankalchand Patel University believes that co-curricular activities make learning for students fun. In view of that, it hosts various activities, seminars, webinars, short-term training programs, and competitions. This help equip the students with developing essential skills beyond the academic arena.
As per the guidelines of the Government of Gujarat, the university has established a Student-Startup and Innovation Policy. The mission is to establish an integrated, university-based innovation ecosystem that will promote the inventions and ideas of the state’s young students.
The university focuses on sports events, cultural activities, NSS, NCC, and other activities. These activities help the students to develop higher self-esteem and explore different areas of their interest. Several important days of national importance are also celebrated to unite the students.
The placement and training cell of the university commits itself to connect the students with organisations of repute. It follows a 360-degree approach wherein they train students, hone their soft skills and make them ready for the corporate world.
The university offers a conducive environment for research activities to take place actively through its Centre for Research and Innovation. The centre aims to strengthen research activities and promote a culture of conducting socially beneficial research with commercialisation potential.
The university has a dedicated International Collaboration Cell. It offers students with international exposure and thereby has maintained linkages with global institutions. The university has signed MoUs for Joint training, research activities, conferences, expert lectures and much more are organised. Kansas State University, USA; Multimedia University, MALAYSIA; Tashkent Medical Academy, Uzbekistan; Wrexham Glyndwr University, UK are some of the many partner universities.
To encourage young minds, the university has established a Startup Incubation Centre which provides support, funding, resources and mentorship to the students. The centre helps the students face the challenges that they might face and offers them the right support and guidance that they need.
