Established in 1972 as People’s Education Society with the core values of Perseverance, Excellence, and Service, the PES university is ranked as the No.1 University in Karnataka in the KSURF Rankings in 2019. It is also placed at the 7th position on the list of India’s Most Trusted Educational Institutes. The university has 3 state-of-the-art campuses in Bengaluru and provides multidisciplinary courses in the field of Engineering, Management, Medicine, and Research. The campus at PES is designed so that the students get an enriching experience of learning with giving students the access to the latest research and computing facilities.
The university has various centres for research, innovation & entrepreneurship and many projects have been taken up from time to time on various industry problems. The university has a Changemakers’ Society that works towards the environment and in making the campus more cleaner and greener. PES offers a unique student abroad program which is the ‘Berkeley Haas Global Access Program’ where the students can learn business and technology along with UC Berkeley students. Top companies like Netflix, Deloitte, Mercedes Benz, etc., have been recruiting the alumni at PES.
The university has a Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship(CIE) where the students get the opportunity to Learn, Experience & Create startups and technology that can positively impact the world. Using the values and strengths of PES the centre helps develop innovative world changing ideas. The PES CIE also has a range of courses that help in building a practical approach to Entrepreneurship. There are Industry-University collaborations, programmes and contests with big giants like Intel and Microsoft that equip the students with a great practical exposure.
PES has a Centre for Heterogeneous & Intelligent Processing Systems(CHIPS) which is the Electronic Campus including courses like Electronic Design Automation, Chromite Bug Bounty, RISCV-on-FPGA, and many other project based courses that give hands on experience to the students. Many projects on Cardiac Anomaly Detection, Accelerator for Genomics, Graph Algorithms and many others have been taken up by the centre.
PES has a Crucible of Research & Innovation(CORI) which was started in 2010 to carry out multidisciplinary research to build up innovative solutions on various industry’s problems. The centre has taken up many projects, some fulfilled and some ongoing with having clients like Goodrich and Siemens.
Founded by environmentally-conscious people, the CMS works to make the campus more sustainable, greener and cleaner. CMS conducts events like Zero Waste Carnival and works towards implementing waste segregation and management on the campus. The society also works with the Beautiful Bengaluru organisation in the ‘StopIndiaSpitting’ campaign.
The university offers a student abroad program at the Haas Business School at the University of California in Berkeley. This programme is a Business and Entrepreneurship program that guides the students with the right aspects and tools that are required to run businesses of today. By being placed in an International setting, the students get a wider exposure with a comprehensive knowledge through the business and technology courses provided in the programme.

For admission into various courses at PES University, the candidate first needs to register for the PESSAT exam and select the preferred programme by filling up the required basic information. Post filing the application form online, the candidate has to pay the requisite fees.

After taking the relevant entrance exam for the preferred programme, the candidate has to appear for the counselling at the University to secure the admission. The seats will be allotted as per the rank scored in the relevant entrance exams.
