Indian Institute of Public Health is located in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, and is India’s first Public Health University. The university was established with the support of the honourable PM Shri Narendra Modi in 2008. It is recognised by the UGC and SIRO and has received appreciation letters from various statutory bodies. The university specialises in public health, hospital administration, and various e-learning programmes in the areas of medical sciences.
Indian Institute of Public Health takes up various research projects in mental health, health technology, air pollution, improving women & child health, and many other concerns. Till now, over 80+ research projects have successfully been completed. The university focuses on conducting webinars on informative topics for the students. It also offers them networking opportunities and learning from industry experts. The university has partnered with notable companies such as WHO, NTEP, Fortify Health, Apollo Hospitals, and NTEP for placement drives.
With the support of AMC and NRDC, the institute began implementing the first Heat Action Plan in South Asia. The Heat Action Plan was introduced to raise awareness regarding extreme heat conditions that affect people in Gujarat. Capacity building among healthcare professionals, building awareness, and community outreach were the initiatives taken up.
Till now the university has excelled in placing its students in various departments in organisations like WHO, NTEP, IHF, and Fortify Health with lucrative salary packages. The other recruiters that come for placements of the students are Aditi Wellness, Care India, Ambuja Foundation, Apollo Hospital, and others.
Being a public health university, the faculty conducts webinars and informative lectures for the students on varied areas of importance. The aim is to keep students updated with the latest developments and happenings around the world. The university also has a youtube channel where they update all the information.
