Dr. M.G.R. Engineering College was founded in 1988, along with the Thai Moogambigai Dental College in 1991. Both colleges were granted Deemed University status in 2003 as Dr M.G.R. Educational and Research institute by UGC. The university focuses on empowering students with top-quality infrastructure and state-of-the-art equipment and promoting a holistic education with a research enabled driven curriculum.
Dr. M.G.R. university has a firm engagement with multiple industries that assist in organising seminars, guest lectures, conclaves, and business presentations for the student. Training programmes by Cisco, Microsoft, and Oracle are conducted in the university periodically to keep students updated with the latest industry technology. Top recruiters like Google, IBM, HCL, and Infosys visited the campus during the placement drive and recruited competently.
Dr. M.G.R. university focuses on providing industry-based training to its students from top MNCs, such as Cisco, Microsoft, IBM, and Oracle. The training sessions span seminars, guest lectures, conclaves, and business & research projects to help the overall development of students.
The University has formed an International Student Cell to assist the arriving international students. Dr. M.G.R. university looks after and addresses all the problems of new students, along with helping them get accustomed to the university environment. The University also provides airport pickup facilities to international students.
The Centre for Sponsored Research of Dr. M.G.R. University helps provide administrative support and project management for numerous projects performed by faculty and university researchers. It also assists students by providing assistantships for ongoing projects.
The purpose of CVR JC is to update recent research topics with students through the university’s faculty members. It reviews the research progress of the JC member and achieves quality research publications.
