Backed by the Mahayana, Theravada, and Vajrayana Buddhist Religious and Charitable Trust, the Swami Vivekanand Subharti University delivers modern education in diverse branches of knowledge. To inculcate a research-driven outlook amongst its students, the university owns sophisticated infrastructure and has entered various research partnerships with prominent organisations. With its experienced faculty and networking resources, the university was awarded Grade ‘A’ by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) in 2016.
In the year 2009, Subharti University established its distance education branch, the Directorate of Distance Education (DDE). Recognised by the Distance Education Bureau (DEB), the directorate offers comprehensive education to its students in various domains of study. The university has a well-resourced library, counselling rooms, and laboratories to enhance the learning experience of its students. The technical courses offered at the directorate are duly approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
To ensure the credibility of an institution to offer distance education, the DEB approval is necessary. The university has received accreditations and approvals for its quality academics. Also, it has received crucial acceptance from the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), the sole regulatory authority for technical education in India.
The students’ desire to learn beyond the self-learning material furnished is the well-resourced library. The library is exclusive to distance education students and can be accessed by them to enhance their knowledge base.
The university houses student-friendly infrastructure on its campus. For the purpose of essential counselling of its students, academic or otherwise, the directorate has dedicated counselling rooms. Also, the student-friendly campus has laboratories that disseminate application-based knowledge to students and evaluate them based on the same.
The students of distance education are physically distanced from the campus. They are bound to face ordeals and have questions at every stage of the distance-learning course. To pacify their concerns, the university offers a quick redressal system. A student needs to fill out the grievance form and file a complaint.
To offer students ample freedom to structure their courses according to their life situations and interests, the university has instituted a credit transfer policy within its curriculum. A student can be admitted to the course at the start of the year if he/she meets the eligibility criteria. The credit transfer policy renders students the freedom to manage their lives and their careers with respect to their interests and life situations.

For an application for admission to distance education courses, a candidate has to download the application form from the official website of the university or get it directly from the directorate. The candidate has to fill out the application form, attach the self-attested copies of the mentioned documents (including the demand draft for the application fee), and submit it to the college. The student can also make an online payment through NEFT/RTGS.
