Directorate of Distance Education, Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati

To ease the learning process of distance learning students, the university organizes Contact Programme Classes (CPC) for all the courses offered. The students get the opportunity to interact in person with experienced teachers during the CPC classes allotted to them. Such CPC classes are conveniently scheduled during holidays so that the working students can attend them.

To supplement the course material of the students enrolled in distance learning mode, the Directorate of Distance Education provides a library, solely for the needs of distance learning students. The students can issue books during their CPC classes and return them before the completion of the CPC classes. The students can also make use of the university’s main library for the sole purpose of reference.

As distance learning students are separated from the mainstream educational process, they need counselling at various stages of their course. To facilitate their learning, the University offers counselling services to the students through the Guidance Cell. The students are rendered information regarding admission, curriculum, and examination and are mentored by experts.

The university houses a Working Women’s Hostel located beside the DDE building. This is done with the objective of increasing the enrollment and participation of women in distance learning courses. Subject to availability, women can stay in the hostel during admissions, CPC classes, and examinations.

The Directorate of Distance Education also accepts applications from candidates through the lateral entry system. The candidate must be a student of Sri Venkateswara University, who was enrolled in undergraduate and postgraduate courses in regular mode in a yearly pattern but couldn’t complete the course.
