The Charotar University of Science & Technology or popularly known as CHARUSAT is a NAAC A+ accredited university located in the state of Gujarat. The journey of CHARUSAT had started with an education campus at Changa. Over the years, the university flourished with many programmes and institutes. The university is a state private university that was ranked among the top 200 universities in the NIRF rankings in 2022 and among the top 3 universities in Gujarat by GSIRF in 2021. Additionally, the university is determined to establish itself as a global leader. Hence, they have an effective 5-year strategic framework that focuses on research, teaching-learning experience and community service.
The university has a Space Research and Technology Centre which provides training to the engineering students who are interested in the fields like signal processing, optics, microwave, antennas and space related technologies. It also has an Entrepreneurship Development and Incubation Cell that fosters entrepreneurial activities among the students. Companies like Berger, Samsung and Byjus fall under the prominent recruiters that comes for placements. Over the period of time,more than 900 students have landed their dream job.
The university pays special attention to the students’ well-being through the student counselling system. Its aim is to foster a positive mental attitude and general well-being of the students along with ensuring academic excellence. The teachers act as the counsellor for the students to guide them. For effective counselling, they appear for an online test wherein they are graded as per their calibre and guided accordingly.
The university has established an Entrepreneurship Development and Incubation Cell with the mission to create an entrepreneurial ecosystem to nurture and motivate entrepreneurial talents among the students. They are motivated to work on sustainable ventures through entrepreneurship awareness, education and training.
The university created a Space Research and Technology Centre in 2013 to pursue cutting-edge technological initiatives in space science and engineering. The centre has delivered projects to ISRO, DRDO and few other private organisations till now. It also provides training to engineering students of Engineering in the design & development of space related technologies, signal processing, optics, and electronic design among many others.
The University-Industry Interaction Cell of the university promotes collaborations with the industry, scientists and academicians. The activities of the cell include signing MoUs, organising industrial training and visits, promoting research and development projects from various universities and curriculum development.
The university has an Alumni Network portal wherein the students can get in touch with their batchmates and alumni. It helps them to expand their professional network. The portal also lets the students get updated with all the news and important events of the university.
For the students’ overall development, the university promotes diverse initiatives like training sessions on verbal and soft skills, yoga sessions, mental health, expert sessions on creative thinking and awareness of technology trends among the students.
The Placement Cell of the university helps in preparing the students to land into successful careers by assisting them with services such as internship opportunities, aptitude training and preparation for interviews.
