Smt. Nathibai Damodar Thackersey Women’s University introduced the Center for Distance Education in 1979. The university focuses on women education to help them get their dream jobs, managerial positions and become effective entrepreneurs. It is a multidisciplinary university that offers various graduate, post graduate, certificate and other courses. More than three lakh women have successfully graduated from the university over the past 40 years.
The university’s Center for Distance Education focuses on liberal arts education and other short term courses with special focus on skill development. The university is tirelessly working on its mission, that is, “Empowering women with A 3 (Anyone, Anytime, Anywhere) higher education.” Thus, it offers pocket-friendly courses. Additionally, it also offers contact sessions to address students’ doubts. In order to ensure that students gain maximum knowledge=dge during the course, the university also provides library membership to distance learning students.
Centre of Distance Education, Smt. Nathibai Damodar Thackersey Women’s University offers their students Library Membership. This helps the students to visit the university and get study material. It gives students the experience of one-on-one learning.
The university focuses on imparting education to all irrespective of the language barrier. Hence, it offers study material in two language i.e. English and Marathi. Additionally, they conduct examinations in four languages, namely – English, Marathi, Hindi and Gujarati.
To assist students during their distance learning course, the university offers Contact services. These sessions are there to help students clarify doubts and address their queries.
The Directorate offers online access to some of the modules on its website. The students can easily retrieve them on the website of the University.
To help students assimilate into the distance learning mode, the Directorate offers counselling services to the students. The stipulated days for the counselling sessions are 15 days for a year course or 7 days for a semester.

A student has the option to apply either online or offline. In case of online application, a student first needs to register at the admission portal. After this, the student is supposed to fill a detailed application form and submit all the requisite documents.
In case of offline application, a student can download the application form, fill it and send it to the university either in person or via post.
