The University of Burdwan was established in 1960 in the historic city of Bardhaman. The university’s Industry Institute Partnership Cell equips students with essential expertise through workshops, study tours, and seminars which are conducted in collaboration with distinguished industrial partners. To encourage agriculture and industry-oriented research, the university has its own Crop Research and Seed Multiplication Farm (CRSMF), University Science Instrumentation Centre and Central Instrumentation Facility, and digitally-aided Central Library.
The University of Burdwan established the Centre for Distance and Online Education (CDOE) in 1994. The CDOE runs in accordance with the guidelines mentioned by the Distance Education Council (DEC). It offers self-instructed resources in printed form or the students can easily access it online from the centre’s website. The centre provides the students with mandatory Personal Contact Programme (PCP) classes. It has multiple study centres to mentor students.
The university has a very economical fee structure. Its maximum fee is over INR 1,00,000 for distance education courses. So, there is no financial burden on students.
The university provides all the resources on its website. A student can log into the portal with his/her credentials and access the learning material for their respective courses.
The Centre for Distance and Online Education (CDOE) has numerous study centres in West Bengal. These study centres ease the admission process for the students, right from application to admission. They also provide students with learning material and necessary counselling for curriculum and examination.
To ease students in the distance learning mode of education, the Centre for Distance and Online Education (CDOE) conducts Personal Contact Programme (PCP) classes for MBA and Postgraduate Programmes. These classes offer students the opportunity to interact personally with proficient teachers with respect to any of their queries.
To assist students to track and improve their performances, the teachers at the CDOE provide students with assignments on a regular basis. The assignments are corrected and sent back to the students to provide them with essential feedback about their performances.

A candidate needs to first register at the application portal and then fill the online application form available on the CDOE’s website. He/she/they have to log in to their account, pay the application fee through online or offline modes of payment and take the printout of the payment slip.
