Established in the year 1935, Banasthali Vidyapith (Women’s Deemed University), Jaipur aims to empower women by offering quality education and other academic services. The university was established on Gandhi Ji’s philosophy and was founded by Pandit Hiralal Shastri and Smt. Ratan Shastri. It is amongst the five universities in India that focuses on women education. The university gained its name “Banasthali Vidyapith ” in the year 1943 and was recognised by UGC as a Deemed-to-be-University in the year 1983. Banasthali Vidyapith has developed from a small school with only six students to the country’s first residential women’s institute, providing education to females from pre-primary to doctoral levels.
Banasthali Vidyapith operates on a five-fold education structure, i.e., Physical, Practical, Aesthetic, Moral, and Intellectual that help students grow holistically. Apart from that, the university has also received autonomous status which helps them to tweak the curriculum and take administrative decisions to offer updated education. Additionally, the university operates on Panchmukhi Education System which creates a balance between rural and urban lifestyle. The university recently introduced a Centre for Research in Mathematical Sciences with the help of the department of Science & Technology, Government of India.
Banasthali Vidyapith creates a balance between rural and urban lifestyle. It operates on the ideology of “Simple Living and High Thinking ” thus, working on a balanced Panchmukhi Education System.
The university is working in collaboration with some technical giants, such as IBM-Centre of Excellence, Tata Research, CISCO, and many others. The university also offers courses in collaboration with the British Council for its students. It is a training programme for young learners.
The university offers various hobby classes to the students, such as Horse Riding, Martial Arts, Classical Dances including other certificate classes that help students to explore their interests. It gives them a platform to showcase their talent.
The university has introduced an in-house ‘Community FM Radio Station’ known as ‘Radio Banasthali’. It operates at 90.4 MHz and broadcasts educational and entertainment programmes recorded by its staff and students. It gives students a platform to show their creativity and share their inputs, experiences, and stories.
The university helps students to explore their writing skills via publishing their content in the university magazine “Kilkari”. This helps students explore their interests in literature, writing, and communication.

Online: In order to apply online, students have to register themselves on the official website of the university and fill out the online application form. The students have to pay the requisite application fee.
Offline: The students can obtain the application form via post by sending a DD of INR 800 to the university. They can also obtain the application form by paying Cash INR 800 in-person at the university office.
