Eligibility Criteria

So you want to apply for the JEE Advanced exam, but how do you ensure that you are eligible for it? The official notification states some important criteria that allow you to know if you are fit to apply for the exam. These are based on the following points.

• JEE Main Scores: JEE Mains scores dictate if you will be able to sit for JEE Advanced or not. Unless you score the required cut off you cannot make it to JEE Advanced.
• Age Limit: Another thing that students have to keep in mind is that they should not be older than 25 years old. However, the students of the reserved category are offered age relaxation that can go up to 5 years.
• Class 12th Marks: In addition to the above, only those students that have cleared their 10+2 from a government-recognised board will get the opportunity to register for the JEE Advanced test. Additionally, students must have a science background with the subjects PCM.
• Prior Admission at IIT: If a student has already gained admission to an IIT they cannot apply for the JEE Advanced exam.

Registration Process & Fees

As per the latest updates, the application forms were made available for filling on the 30th of April, 2023. Candidates must know that there is no alternate site for filling out and submitting the form other than the official website. In order to ensure proper filing and submission of the form students must follow certain steps. Read on to know more.

1. Log in to jeeadv.ac.in with the login ID and password shared during JEE Mains.
2. Next, you must read the form carefully and type in the necessary details. You may also be expected to upload certain documents including your 10th and 12th mark sheets.
3. After punching in all the details and submission of the essential documents you need to pay the registration fees which can be done through both offline and online modes.
4. The last step involves submitting the filled form.

Counselling Process

Like most major exams in India JEE Advanced also features a counselling process that only those students can take part in that have achieved the cut-off marks. The responsibility of conducting the counselling process for BTech and integrated BTech programmes are undertaken by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA). The counselling process this year is expected to have 7 rounds. Below are the steps involved in the process.

• Step 1: The first step is to register for the counselling which can be done by entering your JEE Advanced roll number, registration number and your chosen password.
• Step 2: After successful registration, candidates must choose the institute and the course they want to pursue.
• Step 3: Candidates will then be allotted the seats as per their availability and the marks secured in JEE Advanced. After the seat allocation process is complete candidates are required to make the payment.
• Step 4: Once the payment is done their seat is secured and they must proceed with obtaining the allotment letter. This will be needed at the time of document verification which is the last and final step.

Being familiar with what to expect during the JEE Advanced is very important as this could help you be better prepared for it. 1. Students are advised to bring the admit cards with them to the exam hall.
2. If a candidate is suspected of impersonating he/she will be immediately disqualified from taking the exam. They may also be booked for unlawful conduct.
3. The identities of candidates will be thoroughly checked at the exam venue so they are advised to carry an ID card that has a photo of them.
4. Candidates must not carry electronics like phones, calculators, digital watches, or BlueTooth devices.
