Established in 1962, Shivaji University is a UGC recognised university that promotes and fosters a culture of high quality teaching and learning. It encourages, generates, and promotes excellence in research and academics. The university also focuses on personal grooming through extension activities. The university has built collaborations with some premier institutes in the country such as Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai; Indian Institute of Geo-Magnetism Mumbai; Maharashtra Police Academy, Nashik; etc. Shivaji University has been re-accredited by NAAC with “A” Grade and has bagged 28th position in NIRF rankings.
Centre for Distance & Online Education, Shivaji University, includes a range of innovative teaching and learning strategies that opens doors of education even to the unreached. Its main objective is to offer interdisciplinary and industry-relevant courses of study along with self instructional material, contact sessions, counselling facilities, etc. In order to remove the financial barrier in education, the Centre for Distance & Online Education offers quality education at an affordable fee. The University houses some of the sharpest minds of the industry and follows an industry-integrated curriculum designed by them.

Shivaji University has a full fledged separate team of members continuously working in order to handle the grievances of the students. This is quite beneficial for the students as it makes their learning process quite easy.
Shivaji University provides access to the students to all types of curriculum related study material as well as self learning material. This is beneficial for the students as it assists them to work on their overall development of personality.
The University has a centralised placement cell that caters to the needs of students to face the competitive job market. Student counselling, career services, pre-placement trainings, etc, are some of the activities organised by the placement cell round the year.
Shivaji University aims to remove the financial barriers in education. For the same, it provides various merit-based scholarships to the students in order to give them a chance to prove their mettle.
