KCET Exam 2023: Date, Syllabus, Tips, Mock Tests
The Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) conducts the Karnataka Common Entrance Test as a gateway to offer admissions into various undergraduate courses in the state of Karnataka. The exam was initiated in 1984 to facilitate the entry of students into the Engineering, Technology, Yoga, Unani, Naturopathy, Homoeopathy, Architecture and Agricultural courses. The exam will be conducted on May 20 & 21 this year and will be of a 2-hour duration.
What is the KCET Exam?
The Government of Karnataka set up the Common Entrance Test Cell in 1994 for conducting various entrance exams such as KCET. In 2006, the Common Entrance Test Cell was transformed into the Karnataka Examinations Authority which is an autonomous body under the Societies Registration Act 1960. The exam evaluates students based on their knowledge in the domains of Math, Biology, Physics and Chemistry. Additionally, those students who are claiming government seats under Horanadu & Gadinadu Kannadiga clauses also have to appear for a Kannada language test.
Purpose of the KCET Exam
The KCET exam is conducted every year for students seeking to take admission into various undergraduate courses in the state of Karnataka. The purpose of the exam is to serve as a single platform for entrance into different courses and colleges and thus, eliminates the need of conducting different entrance examinations. The exam facilitates admission into the Engineering, Technology, Yoga, Unani, Naturopathy, Homoeopathy, Architecture and Agricultural courses.
