Aligarh Muslim University was established in 1920. The university started as a college which was formerly named as Mohammedan Anglo-Oriental College, in the year 1920 by Sir Syed Ahmad Khan. It has a well established standing in the global market thus attracting students from various countries such as – Africa, West Asia, and South-East Asia. In addition, the university has also reserved a few seats for international students from SAARC and Commonwealth Countries.
